Saket has nine years of experience spanning investment banking, entrepreneurship, equity research, and private equity investing in India. Most recently, he was with Morgan Stanley’s private equity practice in a sector agnostic fund. Prior to that, Saket spent two years in equity research at Barclays covering Metals & Mining and Building materials space.
Saket holds an MBA in finance from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
After finishing his undergraduate studies in engineering from IIT Delhi, one of India’s premier technical institutes, Saket started his professional career in finance as an investment banker at Avendus. At Avendus, he focused on the the IT/BPO segment, helping execute some of the largest transactions in the space. Inspired by his interactions with various entrepreneurs at Avendus, Saket went on to start his own venture in the outdoor media segment. While the venture received positive traction from the users with viewership reaching half a million within the first ten months of operations, it did not garner adequate interest from the advertisers.
Equipped with learnings from running his own venture, Saket went on to pursue an MBA at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad – graduating amongst the top 1% of the class. After ISB, he joined Barclays covering the metals and mining sector which allowed him to delve deep into the materials / commodities market. Moving onto the investment side, Saket subsequently joined Morgan Stanley, as a private equity generalist which helped him gain wider sector agnostic exposure and a deeper insight into small and medium businesses, an often overlooked segment.
At India Capital, Saket has worked on wide array of sectors including power, travel and construction. Saket lives in Parel, Mumbai and is an avid football fan supporting the blue half of Manchester.
