Uday holds an MBA in general management from Asian Institute of Management, Manila and is a Chartered Accountant as well. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bhopal University.
Uday qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 and spent the next four years working for a consulting firm (VK Surana & Co), a pharma giant (Wyeth) and in the life insurance space (Allianz Bajaj). These formative years exposed him to the whole spectrum of business processes and increase his horizon beyond the sphere of finance and accounting. These experiences also inspired him to go for an MBA from Asian Institute of Management, Manila.
The MBA plus the four year stint in Hong Kong/ China with a micro motor manufacturer (Johnson Electric) proved to be “life changing” as Uday loves to describe that period. Working in cross cultural environments strewn with language barriers as well as with people with diverse backgrounds armed Uday with necessary skill sets for effective management that would prove very useful in years to come. Returning to India, Uday joined Novartis’ OTC division as head of business planning and analysis with responsibility of delivering the P&L. The lure of heading the strategy department for a company embarking on a bottoms-up overhaul of its operations brought him to Premium Transmission, Pune. At Premium Uday was instrumental in instituting transformational changes in all the spheres of the Company’s working – right from manufacturing, sales, marketing, finance and accounts to human resources.
After a long and eventful journey of 16 years Uday joined India Capital as CFO and COO. Away from work Uday likes to cook and paint. He lives in Bandra, Mumbai.
