After finishing his undergraduate studies, Piyush joined the research wing of Mckinsey & Company, where he worked on various projects for financial services clients amidst the challenging backdrop of the global financial crisis. While Piyush always followed the stock market, his passion for public markets grew when he joined the public investments team at SAIF Partners in Delhi. As an analyst there, he developed a perspective on bottom-up stock picking incorporating timeless principles of fundamental research as well as an understanding of the unique features of the Indian businesses he analysed.
Piyush went on to pursue an MBA at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, where he co-managed a student led equity fund. He also did pro-bono projects with Aspada Investments, a George Soros-backed impact VC fund. After graduating, Piyush joined Sabre Partners, a healthcare focused PE fund, where he worked on more than fifty transactions, including an investment in a novel drug discovery company.
At India Capital, Piyush has explored opportunities in resources, telecommunications and other sectors as he continues to pursue his passion for fundamental investing.
Piyush lives in Wadala, Mumbai and spends his free time reading, travelling, cooking and cycling.
